World Book Day 2017

World Book Day was celebrated in style by the whole school on Thursday 2nd March 2017. Everyone arrived in a huge range of wonderful costumes, dressed as their favourite book character. I’m sure you will agree, there are some very creative people in our school!

The morning’s procession of book characters saw four Foundation/KS1 children being shortlisted for the ‘Best Dressed’ award as well as five KS2 children. Our winners were Charlie aka Flat Stanley and Jake aka The Demon Dentist!

We took part in many book related activities throughout the day including; buddy reading, DEAR moments (Drop Everything And Read) and book reviews. Check out the gallery above to enjoy some of the best moments of the day!

Today was the entry deadline for the ‘Extreme Reading’ competition. We have had lots of fantastic (and some scary looking) entries and we look forward to announcing the winners in our celebration assembly on Friday!
