A Brixton Adventure

As part of our ‘Local Studies Week’, both Dahl and Morpurgo classes joined forces to explore our local environment. We headed out of school for a huge adventure, down to the river and back again on a great big loop. With the fantastic weather to enjoy and the splendid scenery, we had a wonderful time and learned lots of new facts about our village.

We learned how to keep ourselves safe when walking on a road with no pavement.

We stopped to admire the view, our first glimpse of the estuary.

Lucky for us, Mrs Howells was waiting for us to pass her house and had cookies and drinks to keep us going. Thank you Mrs Howells!

We set off again for the rest of our walk.

We gathered around to look and learn about an old brick factory. Mrs Harris knew a lot about it!

Mrs Hext helped us to jump down onto the beach.

We found lots of dark-green, shore crabs under the seaweed as we explored in the mud.

On our way back to school, we continued through the woods, climbed over the stile into a sheep field and made our way up the ‘horrible’, steep hill.

‘It was soooo brilliant!’ Ava

‘It was the best walk ever!’ Bobby

‘We are exhausted!’ Naomi

‘It was refreshing’ William S

‘We loved seeing the countryside!’ Ashton
